NEEDING WORKCOVER &

CTP INSURANCE FOR EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY?

The goal of our Exercise Physiologists when working with a Workers Compensation claim is to return you to full duties as quickly and safely as possible

Dealing with a Worker’s Compensation or Insurance claim can be confusing, overwhelming and feel like you’re on your own.

At One Body, our Exercise Physiologists regularly deal with Workcover Queensland, private Worker’s Compensation companies and Insurance companies and are big advocates for patient care and return to pre-incident function.

Our Exercise Physiologists will work with you to restore your strength and function, often using gym-based rehabilitation.

Workcover Queensland

One Body is registered with Workcover Queensland to be able to bill approved claim numbers directly to Workcover QLD. When submitting a claim through Workcover QLD you’ll be given a claim number that looks something like S12AB345678. It is important to note that just because you’ve received a claim number, does not mean your claim is open for billing. Don’t stress – we are able to check this for you!

You do not have to wait for the claim to be open in order to commence treatment, we’ll ask you to pay for the treatment up front, at the Workcover QLD rates and obtain 100% reimbursement from Workcover QLD.

Please bring your ‘Worker’s Compensation Medical Certificate’ to your first appointment and any subsequent certificates you get throughout your treatment.

Once your claim is approved, your treating practitioner will liaise with your Workcover Case Manager and your referring doctor to ensure your treatment progresses smoothly.

Other Workers compensation companies

We work with private and independent worker’s compensation claim companies, however billing policies may vary from company to company. We work hard to be able to bill the company directly, but due to external factors (such as different States), sometimes we are unable to deal directly with the company.

In this instance, you are charged the Workcover Queensland fee rate and able to claim back from the insurance company. Your treating practitioner will liaise with your Workcover Case Manager and your referring doctor to ensure your treatment progresses smoothly.

CTP Claims

Often we will receive a letter of correspondence from your insurance company approving an initial consultation and then requiring a ‘Provider Treatment Plan’ from your treating Exercise Physiologist. (Don’t worry, if this made no sense to you that’s ok, this is our bit not yours!) Once your treating practitioner has submitted the provider treatment plan the insurer will cover all or part of the plan which enables you to continue treatment.

Your insurer will provide us with billing information so we can invoice them directly.

Sometimes you’ll commence treatment with a Exercise Physiologist prior to an insurance claim being lodged. In this instance, where your treatment has already begun, either a letter of correspondence will be sent to us or it will be sent to you to give to us.

This letter of correspondence details that your treatment for ‘XYZ’ is now part of an insurance claim. Once we’ve received this letter, your treating practitioner will complete a ‘Provider Treatment Plan’ to obtain approval from the insurer to bill them directly for X number of sessions. The insurer will either approve or partially approve the plan and from here, we’re able to bill the insurer directly.

Prior to the insurance claim being lodged, you’ll be required to pay for all appointments. When we have the letter of correspondence from the insurer in our hot little hands then we can look to bill the insurer directly.
