Exercise Physiology

Change Happens Through Movement …

And Movement Heals

Exercise Physiology is a highly specialised field of the medical industry devoted to understanding and overcoming acute and chronic responses to exercise, physical activity and sport.

Exercise Physiology, through scientific study of the body and how it works, is focused on the prescription of gentle, yet effective exercise programs for rehabilitation, pain and discomfort relief as well as many chronic health conditions.

It’s a discipline that addresses the short-term responses to physical stress and the adaptability of the body in relation to repeated exposure to physical activity over time.

An Exercise Physiologist is a health care professional with a Bachelors Degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology or Bachelor of Exercise & Sports Science and is accredited with Exercise Sport Science Australia (ESSA).

Exercise Physiologists are responsible for rehabilitating and conditioning clients to higher levels of physical fitness while at the same time having a thorough awareness of any health & safety issues associated with each type of physical activity.

Exercise Physiologists are often referred to by doctors to help treat injuries, illness or conditions they have diagnosed such as Cardiovascular Disease, Neurological Disorders, Type 2 Diabetes, Osteoporosis, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue and more.
